freecad software package provides Extensible Open Source CAx program (alpha), you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install freecad
freecad is installed in your system.
Make ensure the freecad package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep freecad *
You will get with freecad package name, version, architecture and description in a table
